Hi everybody!!

I'd just like to know where are the english speakers from? i though Merwan was only known in France...I'm apparently wrong...Crasy thing! Actually not so crazy, Merwan derserves being known all around the world, he's so talented, isn't he?
Well, i know i'm terribly crurious...
Anyway, if you're not French, could you tell me how did you know him (Merwan, of course)
Maybe Fanny could help me as well, did he sing in a foreign county?

Personnally, i don't know if Merwan did ever sang out of France...

I'm from Portugal and I knew about the troupe by MCM (I've got cable tv, thank God!!!!!)
Hearing "Mon essentiel" one time was enough... I fell immediately in love with the song and, especially with their interpretation, their voices, the passion that we can feel each time we listen to them... (That doesn't happend to me many times... I don't usually get so attached to a music...)
Then I searched in the internet to find out more informations about the song and I discovered the show and the members of the troupe... and that's how I found Merwan!!
After it, I got registered in the forums (not knowing almost a word of french, which was crazy!!!lolol But, for them, I picked up the dictionnary and said to myself:" Let's get this decoded!!" lolol and now I can understand french very well and even write some messages!!!).
I started to whatch videos, listening to the songs... and I've been loving it!
I love Merwan's voice and the way he plays the guitar!!! Actually, that last one has kind of a big story behind...
I had guitar lessons for one year and the I gave up because I didn't have time... because of the school and everything... but, I learned a lot! When I listen to a guitar playing I can understand the techniques behind the song... my ear catches almost all the details! And, believe me, some musics that seem very simple, are sometimes really difficult to play! Since then I got this affection for the guitar music...
I learned to love music (in general) more than I already did, i've learned to understand it better.
But, coming back to the subject, Merwan is not very known in Portugal... But I think that it isn't a talent problem (he is incredibly talented!!) it's more like a publicity problem... (Here) the radios don't play much of french music ( which is a pity, because you have great musicians and singers!).

And I think I'll stop here... My message is getting kind of big... lololol

How did I hear of Merwan? Well its a long story but I have been visiting Paris for about a year to see musicals and buying cds and dvds.

I was in a shop looking at the musicals section and I saw 'Le Roi Soleil' cd, it looked interesting so I bought it and loved it.

When I was back home I searched the internet and found the show was still on in Paris. As I was visiting in December to see 'Notre Dame de Paris' and had a free day I decided to go and see the show.

The rest is history - I already liked Merwan's voice from the cd and he was brilliant in the show.

There are a few of us in the UK who know of the show or have actually seen it and we constantly spread the word!

I eventually bought the Collectors edition of the cd and gave my original to a friend who is now a fan (although she likes Manu!).

So a big kiss to Merwan if he reads this and to you all!

I live in Stockholm, Sweden but im Mexican/Chilean.
Well the first time i heard about Merwan was when a friend i had been talking to that is from Canada told me about LRS! She had a signature with the LRS cast on it and i was really curious Razz

So she explained it to me and then i was more curious!

I managed to get a hold of the songs and it was like magic! I was so kind of sucked in. The songs seemed so familiar to me and i basically fell in love:flower:

And then you start to know a bit more about the musical and the actors Wink

I saw Merwan and co. when they were in the TNT show and it just confirmed that he is an amazing artist !

My name is Filipa, I'm 18, and I'm portuguese! I've discovered Le Roi Soleil one day, while I was watching MCM! the first music that I've heard from them was Etre à la hauteur, and that was all that I needed to hear to become their fan! thumright

Them I started to look for more information on the internet but I had a big problem, the language!! I almost didn't understand a word of french!
But thanks to the troup and the members of the foruns, I found courage and motivation to learn french again! study

All these words just to say that the talent of these amazing artists is so big that no geographic or idiomatic barriers can stop them!! And their fans are from all over the world!!

Hi there,
I am from Austria living here and in Germany. I watched the show DVD of "Le roi soleil" and completly fell in lvoe with it. Well, not difficult to adore Merwan, then. Wink

I am glad I found this forum, because it also gives me a chance to train my french again.
I also do hope to be able to come and see the last performances of Le roi soleil on 07/08 july 2007.

This summer my friend brought me a DVD "Le roi soleil" from France, and I had it on... Here he isn't known at all, you may find just a couple of words about some Merwan that sang with Marilou Sad
